Job Description:

Channel your passion for supporting children and families! We are looking for a Child, Family and Community Worker – Wellbeing and Safety – to join our team. The position is a key service delivery position responsible for intake, assessment, case management, peer support and evidence based groupwork in the Community and Family Support (CAFS) Program, delivering high-quality services and activities with parents and children. In this varied role, you will work with children (from 0 to 18) and their families.

Job Responsibility:

  • Run groups for parents
  • Deliver educational sessions
  • Undertake case work

Requirements:

  • A relevant University or TAFE qualification/s in Social Work or an interdisciplinary field of practice such as Psychology, Allied Health, Welfare, Community Services, or Early Childhood and/or extensive experience in an identified role working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, or Multicultural People
  • Lived experience and/or working knowledge of issues and opportunities experienced by children, young people, and families experiencing disadvantage, trauma, and/or the impacts of mental health challenges
  • Experience or knowledge relevant to working with children, young people and parents such as supporting children and young people’s development, regulation, mental health and wellbeing, building parenting capacity, attachment, trauma, community development, culture and identity, health education, domestic violence intervention, and early intervention frameworks
