Job Description:

Child Care Worker at Eagle's Nest Early Learning Centre and New Beginnings Young Parent Daycare will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate childcare program, offering a nurturing environment for the care of children, encouraging their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate childcare program
  • Work with children, family, staff, and supervisor to provide an engaging early childhood experience
  • Carry out developmentally appropriate activities and experiences
  • Attend to children's physical needs (toileting, eating, sleeping)
  • Attend to children's psychological and emotional needs
  • Provide a healthy, safe, caring, and nurturing environment
  • Administer First Aid when necessary
  • Observe and remove potential hazards
  • Build and maintain relationships with parents/caregivers
  • Use Early Learning Framework and emergent curriculum

Requirements:

  • Infant/Toddler License to Practice or Early Childhood Education Certificate (ECE)
  • Emergency First Aid certificate with CPR level C
  • One year experience providing care to children
  • Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework
  • Ability to collaborate and work with family, staff, and community partners
  • Ability to adapt and engage
  • Ability to work in a high noise and distraction environment
  • Ability to pay close attention to child's physical and emotional needs
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate group process and facilitation techniques
  • Ability to be involved in direct delivery of activities including walking, standing, bending, and lifting children up to 40 lbs
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
