The Child Care Staff is a member of the BCNC Adult Education and Workforce team. Adult Education prepares adult immigrant learners with the education, training, and guidance that lead them to successful employment and family-sustaining wages. You will strengthen immigrant adults and teach individuals English and the critical skills they need to thrive in today’s economy. You will report directly to the Director of Adult Education.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and child-focused classroom environment that supports children
Provide care for one group of up to two dozen young children in a public school classroom, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, 4:00pm – 7:00pm, mid-November to late June, while their adult family members are in a nearby classroom
Set up and clean up the child care space before and after each child care session
Present a friendly and professional tone in interactions with families
Maintain regular work attendance and punctuality
Requirements:
At least 18 years old, with a High School Diploma or equivalent
Have 1-2 years of experience working with toddlers or school-age children
