Job Description:

Bring your cooking talents and kitchen management skills as an Assistant Cook. You’ll plan menus, prepare meals, and order inventory as you make a real difference in the lives of children, families, and staff. Collaborate with a dynamic team to create engaging curriculum that shapes future learners and leaders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for children and staff
  • Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
  • Manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals, as well as cleaning and complying with sanitation requirements
  • This role includes approximately 20 hours per week supporting kitchen operations and 20 hours per week teaching and engaging with children in the classroom

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age with a high school degree or GED required
  • Relevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen is required
  • Food Handlers permit or ServSafe certification according to state/local regulations required
  • Candidates must pass required state and company background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
