Supervising Family Time: Facilitate and observe contact sessions between children and their parents or relatives in various community settings or dedicated centers
Observation & Reporting: Provide detailed, factual, and objective written reports on family interactions to support social workers and court proceedings
Child Safety: Actively manage risks during sessions, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of the child is the top priority at all times
Travel & Logistics: Travel across Lancashire to transport children to sessions or to meet families in different locations
Support & Guidance: Offer coaching and modeling of positive parenting behaviors to birth parents during sessions where appropriate
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience working directly with children and families (e.g., Social Care, Education, or Youth Work)
Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage complex family dynamics or conflict with a calm, professional approach
Driving: A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role due to the travel involved across the county
Compliance: An enhanced DBS check will be required
Reliability: Ability to commit to a 37-hour work week with a degree of flexibility to meet family needs
