An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a developing CAMHS Crisis Liaison and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service in Ireland.
Job Responsibility
Provide consultant-led psychiatric assessment and management for children and adolescents
Deliver clinical leadership within the CAMHS liaison multidisciplinary team
Lead crisis intervention and liaison psychiatry services
Assess and manage children and adolescents presenting in mental health crisis
Provide psychiatric input within emergency and inpatient settings
Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds and clinical reviews
Support development of CAMHS crisis resolution pathways
Work collaboratively with community CAMHS services
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care planning
Supervise NCHDs and junior medical staff
Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and risk assessments
Participate in the consultant on-call rota
Contribute to service development and reconfiguration initiatives
Ensure compliance with mental health legislation and clinical governance standards
Requirements
Full registration as a Specialist with the Irish Medical Council in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Active IMC Specialist Registration in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Minimum 1 year NHS experience
Specialist training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Experience managing mental health crises in children and adolescents
Strong multidisciplinary working skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Experience in risk assessment and crisis intervention
Ability to lead Consultant-led CAMHS liaison services
Access to transport
Ability to participate in consultant on-call rotas
Nice to have
Experience in liaison psychiatry services
Leadership or management experience
Experience in service redesign and innovation
