The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is a critical executive role responsible for defining, driving, and executing the overall strategic direction of a leading Public Listed Company (PLC) in Malaysia. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this position leads the Strategy, Transformation, and Strategic Delivery functions. The CSO serves as a key advisor to the CEO and the Board, bridging the gap between long-term vision and operational impact.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the development of short-, medium-, and long-term corporate strategies aligned with business goals
Conduct market, competitor, and industry analysis to identify growth opportunities
Facilitate annual strategic planning and review cycles across various business units
Provide high-level strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership team
Drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across digital, operational, commercial, and organizational pillars
Identify and prioritize high-impact transformation programs and champion a culture of continuous innovation
Oversee the execution of key strategic initiatives, establishing governance frameworks, KPIs, and tracking mechanisms to ensure timely delivery
Ensure cross-functional alignment and accountability for the delivery of measurable impact
Track and report strategic KPIs and business performance metrics to the Executive Committee and Board
Ensure all initiatives deliver intended financial and operational outcomes through data-driven decision-making
Monitor performance against strategic objectives and intervene where necessary to ensure goals are met
Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership
Collaborate closely with internal business units and engage external stakeholders, including consultants and partners
Lead and develop high-performing teams across Strategy, Transformation, and the PMO
Foster an organizational culture rooted in accountability, agility, and innovation
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
15+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, corporate planning, or transformation roles
Expertise in corporate strategy formulation and portfolio planning
Advanced financial modeling and scenario planning
Proficiency in data analytics, insight generation, and market research
High-level strategic thinking and leadership influence
Proven ability in collaboration and cross-functional integration
