We are currently looking for a Chief Steward to join our Stewarding team at Four Seasons Resort Mykonos. As a Chief Steward, you will lead and oversee the entire stewarding department to ensure impeccable hygiene, operational efficiency, and compliance with all health and safety standards. You will manage a diverse team, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and collaborate closely with Food & Beverage and kitchen teams to provide exceptional guest experience in our large resort environment.
Job Responsibility:
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate stewarding staff to maintain excellent operational standards
Supervise all stewarding activities including permanent, seasonal, and outsourced personnel
Implement and oversee rigorous cleaning schedules for kitchens, storage, employee dining areas, and stewarding equipment
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Monitor the washing and distribution of china, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans
Manage labor schedules, budgets, and inventory controls to optimize efficiency and control costs
Oversee maintenance and preventive care of all stewarding machinery and equipment
Coordinate with Purchasing on annual orders and inventory management
Collaborate with Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Directors, and Banquet teams to coordinate service and banquet operations
Prepare reports on department performance, inventory, breakage, and operational issues
Support health, safety, and emergency procedures across the department
Maintain professional appearance and enforce uniform standards
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or management
Requirements:
Proven experience in stewarding or related hospitality management roles, ideally within large hotels or resorts
Strong leadership and people management skills
In-depth knowledge of hygiene, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations
Competency in budget management, inventory control, and cost optimization
Familiarity with stewarding equipment maintenance and operation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant hospitality software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
Certification in food handling and sanitation as required by local regulations
