Job Description

We are assisting a valued client in their search for an experienced Chief Risk Officer to lead and enhance the organization’s enterprise-wide risk management framework. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, assessing and monitoring risks across all operational areas, and driving strategic initiatives that strengthen internal controls and overall risk governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk analysis, governance, operational risk management, and compliance. This individual will play a central role in cultivating a culture of risk awareness, identifying emerging risks, developing mitigation strategies, and supporting continuous improvement across the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the organization's Risk Appetite Framework, including methodologies and enterprise risk assessments
  • Coordinate governance processes, risk committee activities, and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance and accountability
  • Create and maintain risk dashboards, KPIs, and KRIs for executive and board-level decision-making
  • Analyze emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes to provide actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing risk capabilities, improving controls, and adopting advanced technology solutions
  • Evaluate financial and operational processes to identify vulnerabilities and recommend effective improvements
  • Manage internal training programs to foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive management
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing risk management team across multiple locations
  • Investigate operational incidents, oversee corrective action plans, and maintain detailed documentation in incident databases
  • Develop and manage credit approval and monitoring programs, ensuring scalability and compliance with organizational standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, enterprise risk assessment, or a related field
  • Strong expertise in finance, operational risk, and risk analysis methodologies
  • Proficiency in developing and utilizing KPIs, KRIs, and risk dashboards for strategic decision-making
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and risk modeling techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to manage governance processes, regulatory reporting, and issue remediation tracking
  • Experience in mentoring and building high-performing teams in risk management
  • Familiarity with credit and market risk management practices, including hedging strategies
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills to drive effective risk initiatives
