Job Description:

Piper Companies is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer for a leading telecommunications organization in Dallas, TX. The Chief Information Security Officer will lead the enterprise information security program and ensure the protection of critical telecom network infrastructure and customer data.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and execute the enterprise information security strategy
  • Oversee security operations, incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management
  • Ensure compliance with telecom‑relevant regulations and frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, FCC, SOX, and CPNI
  • Partner with IT, Engineering, Legal, and executive leadership to embed security across the business
  • Lead the protection of telecom network systems including wireless networks, switching systems, fiber transport, and customer‑facing platforms
  • Manage and mentor the information security team
  • oversee staffing, budgeting, and vendor relationships
  • Present security risks, priorities, and program updates to executive leadership and the Board

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in information security, including leadership roles
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Direct experience within the telecommunications industry (wireless, fiber, ISP, carrier, or related)
  • Strong understanding of telecom technologies such as switching systems, VoIP, wireless networks, and OSS/BSS
  • Deep knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory requirements including NIST, ISO, FCC, and CPNI
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling enterprise security programs
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management skills
