Develop and deliver a comprehensive university-wide information security and privacy program. Ensure information created, acquired, or maintained by University and its authorized users is in accordance with an intended purpose. Protect University information and infrastructure from external or internal threats to ensure that University complies with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security, and privacy.
Job Responsibility:
Provides leadership to the information security team including professional development, mentoring, resource allocation, financial planning
Stays knowledgeable of best-of-breed information security technologies and key vendors
Maintains current understanding of IT threat landscape for universities
Acts as primary liaison with university system cybersecurity staff
Serves as part of the Information Technology Services executive leadership team
Fosters a cybersecurity culture predicated on benchmarking, analysis, and reporting leading to a mature organization
Chairs committee(s) for key security and risk stakeholders to develop and review enterprise security and risk strategies
Reviews and approves security policies, control, and cyber incident response planning
Ensures regulatory compliance with enterprise security policies and sets policies for sharing information across platforms
Develops and maintains information security awareness programs
customizes communication tools and campaigns targeting multiple service communities
Coordinates business continuity planning efforts across business units and integrated services group
Engages with client communities to align policy with need
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Five (5) or more years of related work experience
Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
Experienced in leading IT operations
Able to manage staff, timelines, and resources in a fast-paced technology division with often competing demands
Negotiates and works with vendors and consultants
Fosters to new technologies and implement solutions to address customer needs
Competent in IT risk assessment and management, IT continuity management, IT governance formulation, and organizational change management
Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
Knowledgeable about privacy and protection of sensitive data (i.e., FERPA, HIPAA, etc.)
Knowledgeable about information technology and related trends and management of technology-related projects
Knowledge of national and international regulatory compliances and frameworks, such as NIST 800, CIS, ISO, SOX, BASEL II, EU DPD, HIPAA, and PCI DSS
Working knowledge of IT financial management and IT audit
Adept in information policy formulation, information security management, and business risk management
Understandings of project management principles
Understands trade-offs required to manage different levels of risk tolerance and risk exposure across the organization and balance this with risk investments
Knowledge of enterprise integrated systems, event-driven programs, and the potentials of process automation and artificial intelligence
Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
Displays creative problem solving
Proficient in presenting technical and business subjects to technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to have:
CISSP or equivalent professional certifications
Master's Degree
Management experience in higher education environment
