We are looking for an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join our team in McAllen, Texas. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership to align technology initiatives with our business objectives while ensuring operational excellence and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information systems management, IT strategy, and executive leadership within the financial services sector.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that supports the organization’s business goals and enhances operational efficiency
Serve as the primary liaison between the bank and external information systems vendors to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Collaborate with business unit managers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to improve processes and drive business growth
Provide expert technical advice and innovative solutions to senior executives and staff, addressing complex IT challenges
Ensure all IT projects align with strategic objectives while maintaining up-to-date software packages and licenses
Oversee disaster recovery planning in partnership with the Risk Management department to ensure timely restoration of IT services during emergencies
Monitor industry trends and recommend enhancements to maintain a competitive edge in technology
Manage and mentor IT staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating, and fostering growth and skill development
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, internal audit controls, and bank policies related to IT operations
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulatory requirements, ensuring department adherence to all applicable rules and standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business IT, or a related field
A minimum of ten years of experience in IT/IS management, with a focus on the financial services industry
Proven expertise in leading IT project management, including software development, operations, security, and risk compliance
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Demonstrated ability to enhance business processes through innovative application of systems technology
Experience with systems security, data governance, and business intelligence tools
Availability for occasional travel as needed
