Job Description:

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and serves as the strategic partner to the CEO in shaping a high‑performing, mission‑driven workforce across a complex academic medical system. The CHRO provides vision and leadership for all human capital functions, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, organizational development, total rewards, employee experience, employee and labor relations, HR operations, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development. The CHRO ensures HR strategies support the organization’s academic, clinical, and community missions while promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides vision and leadership for all human capital functions, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, organizational development, total rewards, employee experience, employee and labor relations, HR operations, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development
  • Ensures HR strategies support the organization’s academic, clinical, and community missions while promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability
  • Serves as the strategic partner to the CEO in shaping a high‑performing, mission‑driven workforce across a complex academic medical system

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility in a complex, multisite organization
  • Experience within healthcare, academic medicine, or nonprofit sectors strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading cultural transformation, workforce redesign, and HR modernization initiatives
  • Labor relations experience is preferred
  • HR certifications (SHRM‑SCP, SPHR) preferred
