We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in industrial and commercial construction, who can drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will oversee all financial operations and collaborate closely with project management and operations teams to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Job Responsibility:
Lead financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management for the organization
Manage project costing, profitability analysis, and working capital optimization across multiple industrial construction projects
Develop and execute strategic plans related to capital, financing, and risk management, including overseeing debt/equity funding and banking relationships
Drive cost control measures and margin improvement initiatives across all projects and subsidiaries
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including construction-specific accounting practices such as contract billing and lien waivers
Mentor and manage the finance and accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Evaluate and implement financial systems to automate processes and improve reporting capabilities
Partner with operations and project teams to assess project bids, contract terms, and financial risk exposure
Coordinate external audits, insurance programs, bonding requirements, and tax strategies
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and profitability
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
A minimum of 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO, VP Finance, or Corporate Controller role within the construction industry
Expertise in construction accounting practices, including project cost controls and compliance
Proven track record of leading financial planning, capital management, and process improvement initiatives in an industrial construction environment
Experience with construction accounting systems such as Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore, or similar platforms
Strong knowledge of banking, bonding, and insurance requirements for large-scale construction projects
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different business units
Strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills to drive organizational success
