We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership for a dynamic real estate and land development company in San Diego, California. The ideal candidate will excel in managing complex financial operations, driving investment strategies, and overseeing capital markets. With a focus on long-term growth, this role requires expertise in financial planning, compliance, and team leadership within the real estate and construction sectors.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement financial strategies to align with the company’s real estate and investment objectives
Collaborate with leadership teams to assess new land acquisitions, project feasibility, and portfolio performance
Lead financial modeling for acquisitions, construction, entitlements, and disposition scenarios
Oversee corporate and project-level financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning to support land acquisition and construction projects
Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track financial health and project outcomes
Build and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and equity partners to secure financing for development projects
Negotiate and structure financing agreements, including construction loans, land loans, and joint ventures
Implement financial controls, policies, and compliance measures tailored to real estate operations
Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team to support multi-phase development projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
10–15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in real estate development or construction finance
Proven expertise in managing capital-intensive projects and securing debt and equity financing
Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation, and understanding of real estate pro formas
Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities with lenders and investors
Deep knowledge of project costs, entitlements, and cash flow cycles
Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning capabilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving entrepreneurial environment
