Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Onset, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing financial visibility, improving reporting accuracy, and providing actionable insights to drive business performance. This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with leadership to shape the financial strategy and reporting infrastructure of a growing construction company.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reporting systems at both company and project levels
  • Create executive dashboards and reporting tools within Sage Intacct to provide leadership with actionable insights
  • Align data across financial and project management systems, including Sage Intacct and Procore, to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Oversee job costing, earned revenue recognition, and forecasting processes specific to the construction industry
  • Implement forward-looking tools such as cash flow forecasting, backlog analysis, and margin tracking to support proactive decision-making
  • Monitor project profitability, margin trends, and financial risks, providing clear recommendations to improve business performance
  • Serve as a strategic partner to leadership, offering insights on cost management, margin improvement, and growth opportunities
  • Ensure data integrity across all financial systems and streamline reporting processes for better decision-making
  • Provide hands-on leadership in financial system integrations and enhancements
  • Develop quarterly cash projections and other financial planning tools to support long-term business objectives

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in construction financial management, including job costing and revenue recognition
  • Hands-on expertise with Sage Intacct and strong knowledge of financial reporting systems
  • Proven ability to integrate financial and project management systems, such as Procore
  • Strong background in cash flow forecasting, margin analysis, and backlog reporting
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations
  • Ability to work on-site in Onset, Massachusetts, 1-2 days per week
  • Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset to partner effectively with leadership
  • Familiarity with month-end close processes and capital management
