Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team on a contract basis for a client on the west side of Indianapolis. In this role, you will lead the financial strategy, oversee critical accounting operations, and ensure the organization's fiscal health aligns with its long-term goals. This position is ideal for an experienced finance specialist with a strong background in construction or contracting industries.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and implement financial strategies to align with the organization’s business goals and objectives
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes to ensure effective resource allocation
Monitor financial performance against plans and provide actionable recommendations to address variances
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial governance practices
Create and manage dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on organizational performance
Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, including performance reviews and ongoing development
Assess and advise on the financial implications of contracts, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance financial awareness and improve decision-making processes
Represent the organization in financial meetings, offering insights and recommendations to the executive team

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Chief Financial Officer or Controller, preferably in the construction or contracting industry
Expertise in cash flow analysis, capital management, and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and business systems
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics
Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring accounting teams
Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data and presenting clear, actionable insights
Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
