Mint Selection is supporting one of Europe's most innovative climate technology businesses- a firm that has established a genuine first-mover position in thermal energy storage. With commercial deployments live, institutional backing secured, and growing international demand, our client is now at the point where the founding team are ready to bring in a commercially driven CEO to lead the next phase of growth. The business is preparing for a significant capital raise, entering new European markets, and transitioning from project-based delivery toward an Energy-as-a-Service model. The founding team are technically exceptional and remain deeply involved as the company's technology leadership and public-facing voice. What they are looking for is a partner who complement their strengths: someone with deep commercial expertise, a proven track record of scaling and internationalising high-growth businesses in this space, and the experience of building the operational foundations that allow a company to grow at pace without losing what makes it distinctive.
Job Responsibility:
Define and execute an international growth strategy across Central and Northern European markets
Lead the transition from project delivery to recurring, service-based revenue models
Drive diversification into higher-value industrial customer segments including food and beverage, chemicals, and process-heat-intensive industries
Build and lead the strategic partnerships that underpin an asset-light, technology-led delivery model outside the home market
Take the business through its next institutional capital raise, shaping the equity story and carrying it credibly in front of investors
Build leadership depth and implement the governance and operating cadence required to scale the organisation
Requirements:
A background in energy or a closely adjacent industrial sector, with a strong commercial orientation and deep market networks
Experience scaling revenue operations not just managing them and structuring complex, often novel commercial deals
The ability to operate credibly at board and investor level, and to represent the business externally with genuine authority
Comfort with ambiguity and the hunger to build something, rather than run something already built
Strong English is essential
proficiency in a second European language is a meaningful advantage
Prior CEO experience is preferred but not a requirement
