Job Description:

The Chief Engineer oversees the drafting team using their excellent leadership abilities as they work on multiple company projects. The Chief Engineer's responsibilities will include assigning tasks to drafting teams, setting long and short-term project goals and deadlines, reviewing architects drawings for flaws and ensuring correct / best practice design is substituted, and ensuring that projects stay within time and budgetary restraints. An exceptional chief engineer should be able to think on their feet and clearly communicate their vision to their team, and be able to pass on their knowledge to the betterment of the company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Communicating the goals of the company to all engineers and professionals in the team
  • Supervising every phase of the project from start to completion
  • Calculating costs, material, labor, and time required for each project
  • Approving designs and budgets
  • Delegating tasks to engineering teams
  • Supervising staff training as well as equipment installation
  • Performing quality control checks on all systems and products
  • Quickly resolving disputes between staff
  • Acknowledging or rewarding good work
  • Analyzing data and drafting reports for review

Requirements:

  • 4 years experience in the Architectural Millwork or related industry
  • At least 4 years of experience leading or supervising a team
  • A sound understanding of AWMAC guidelines & cabinetry related engineering principles
  • The ability to maintain a positive attitude and restore morale to a team
  • The ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to process negative feedback and remain professional
  • The ability to work onsite and in the office

  • Ensure effective management of all aspects of technical engineering associated to Structures, Systems Installations, and Integration by closely working with other engineering departments, internal and external customers, and Structural partners/Suppliers
  • Work closely with the employees to continuously develop skills of team members through coaching, employee training and development, ongoing assessment, and feedback with the objective to build and sustain an environment that supports cooperation, employee engagement and trust
  • Maintain technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to Airframe Structure and Systems Installation
  • Support manpower planning activities and budget preparation
