Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems – HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
  • Lead, schedule, and support the engineering team, ensuring effective coverage and high standards of work
  • Manage and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and public areas
  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests or emergencies, minimising disruption to operations and guests
  • Collaborate with department heads to support operational needs and ensure seamless service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as legal and brand requirements
  • Manage contractors, service providers, and external inspections, ensuring quality and timely work
  • Monitor and optimise energy use, utilities, and maintenance budgets
  • Keep detailed maintenance records and assist with capital planning and project implementation
  • Train your team on safety, emergency procedures, and best practices

Requirements:

  • solid technical knowledge and previous experience in a senior engineering/maintenance role, ideally within the hotel industry
  • confident managing a team and setting high standards for safety, quality, and service
  • skilled in troubleshooting and quick thinking
  • organized, calm under pressure, and happy to be on call when needed
  • knows building systems and maintenance tools, and understands documentation and compliance
  • committed to keeping the hotel running smoothly
