Job Description:

Manages all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage all engineering/maintenance operations
  • Maintain building, grounds and physical plant with attention to safety, security and asset protection
  • Manage budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation
  • Maintain regulatory requirements
  • Lead emergency response team for facility issues
  • Supervise Engineering in absence of Director of Engineering
  • Assist in managing physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems
  • Maintain and operate equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety
  • Establish and manage effective rooms maintenance program
  • Ensure compliance with Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures
  • Manage department's controllable expenses to achieve budgeted goals
  • Select and order new equipment, supplies, and furnishings
  • Inspect and evaluate physical condition of facilities
  • Recommend additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations
  • Supervise day to day operations of Engineering
  • Maintain accurate logs and records
  • Assist in planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs
  • Handle guest problems and complaints effectively
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality
  • Help establish priorities for total property maintenance needs
  • Ensure on-going communication to create awareness of business objectives and expectations
  • Celebrate successes and recognize team member contributions
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees
  • Ensure employees are treated fairly and equitably
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Provide feedback to employees based on service behaviors
  • Supervise employee's ability to execute emergency procedures

  • Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area
  • technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major
  • 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area
