Job Description:

Subsea7 is a global leader in the delivery of offshore projects and services for the energy industry. The Chief Engineer is responsible to the Vessel Master for the management of the Technical Department which includes responsibility for the technical status of the ship, its machinery and propulsion systems, all technical equipment permanently installed on board and all marine technical equipment temporarily installed on board.

Requirements:

  • Relevant academic qualifications or evidence of having completed an appropriate apprenticeship or similar compliant with the STCW Code A-III/2
  • Jack Up vessel experience
  • valid Seafarer Medical Fitness or equivalent
  • Offshore Survival certificate suitable for geographical area of work

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Airframe Primary and Secondary Structural Design including Systems Installations
  • Understanding of airframe design, aircraft configuration, materials and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of Catia V5 engineering software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Provide technical engineering leadership to all team members to accomplish the Program requirements
  • Define individual goals and expected results for engineering employees in order to support the group and department
  • Apply BOE and other methodologies to implement and improve business processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and meet strategic goals
  • Ensure effective management of all aspects of technical engineering associated to Structures, Systems Installations, and Integration by closely working with other engineering departments, internal and external customers, and Structural partners/Suppliers
  • Work closely with the employees to continuously develop skills of team members through coaching, employee training and development, ongoing assessment, and feedback with the objective to build and sustain an environment that supports cooperation, employee engagement and trust
  • Maintain technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to Airframe Structure and Systems Installation
  • Support manpower planning activities and budget preparation
