Job Description:

Permanent position for a Chief Engineer in the PSV fleet based in the UK, with a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the technical status of the ship, its machinery and propulsion systems
  • Ensuring all equipment onboard is operational
  • Ensuring vessel complies with relevant rules and regulations from flag authorities, Classification Society, I.M.O., Port Authorities, and owners’ management
  • Carrying out safe, efficient and economic operation and maintenance of all machinery, systems, specialist equipment, and vessel fabric
  • Ensuring an effective and efficient watch is maintained in the engine room at all times
  • Reporting defects via company approved planned maintenance system
  • Promptly updating status and content of defects within company system
  • Requisitioning stores, spares and equipment for the Engine Department
  • Delegating tasks to Engine Room staff
  • Actively promoting and progressing company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
  • Actively promoting inter-departmental communications

Requirements:

  • Worked in a Chief Engineer capacity previously
  • Hold a UK CoC / UK FSE (or non-UK candidates willing to apply for UK equivalent)
  • Hold a UK/Irish passport or valid Frontier Work Permit (due to vessel working within 12 nautical mile zone)
