Access Medical Labs has exclusively retained Kirby Bates Associates to identify their inaugural Chief Diagnostic Officer (CDO). This is a pivotal opportunity for a strategic and visionary leader to shape and scale diagnostic laboratory operations. The CDO will drive innovation, optimize workflows, elevate clinical quality, and ensure regulatory compliance — all in pursuit of operational excellence and transformative growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Shape and scale diagnostic laboratory operations
  • Drive innovation, optimize workflows, elevate clinical quality, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Partner closely with the CEO and executive team to align diagnostic strategy with bold business goals
  • Lead a team dedicated to exceeding regulatory standards and delivering best-in-class laboratory services

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in laboratory leadership (Director level or higher)
  • 5–7 years in a C-level lab leadership role, preferably in high-volume or reference lab settings
  • Proven success in scaling lab operations and implementing innovative diagnostic strategies
  • Experience in high-throughput lab environments is highly desirable
  • MBA or related graduate degree required
  • Medical Technologist license required (Supervisor License preferred, based on state regulations)

  • Prepare exam rooms for patient exams, ensuring that exam rooms are neat, clean, well-stocked and properly prepared
  • Collect urine, blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing
  • Operate electrocardiogram (EKG) or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the provider with appropriate written orders
  • Provide education to patients regarding treatment procedures, medications, diets, providers’ instructions and preparation necessary for diagnostic tests, x-rays and laboratory examinations
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Perform and document point-of-care equipment testing daily before beginning patient care
