The International School of Monza (ISM), part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking a committed and knowledgeable IB Chemistry Teacher to join in August 2026. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Chemistry teaching within an IB framework, supporting students across the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and, where appropriate, the Diploma Programme (DP). This role suits a reflective, student-centred practitioner who is passionate about inquiry-based science education, practical experimentation, and developing scientific thinking in an international school environment. The IB Chemistry Teacher will work collaboratively within the Science Department, contributing to curriculum development, interdisciplinary learning, and the wider life of the school, while modelling the IB Learner Profile and Inspired Education values.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-led Chemistry lessons aligned with IB philosophy, objectives and assessment criteria
Teach Chemistry across IB programmes, adapting content and practical work to different ages and levels
Prepare students effectively for internal and external IB assessments, as appropriate
Design and deliver safe, well-structured laboratory and practical activities
Differentiate instruction to support a range of abilities, including multilingual learners
Use formative and summative assessment data to track progress, provide feedback and inform planning
Work collaboratively within the Science Department to support curriculum planning and vertical alignment
Contribute to interdisciplinary learning and inquiry units where appropriate
Participate actively in moderation, standardisation and assessment review processes
Engage in ongoing professional development, including IB training
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and attainment
Promote and model the IB Learner Profile and Inspired Education values
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including trips, enrichment activities and school events
Support pastoral initiatives and maintain high expectations for student wellbeing and behaviour
Requirements:
A recognised teaching qualification and degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
Experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical science
Understanding of inquiry-based, concept-driven learning
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Collaborative, reflective and student-focused approach
Legal right to live and work in Italy (EU passport or valid work permit)
Nice to have:
Experience teaching within the IB MYP and/or DP
Experience in an international or multilingual school environment
Familiarity with IB assessment and moderation practices
Experience preparing students for IB external assessments
Ability to contribute to other Science disciplines
Italian language skills
