A-Level Chemistry Specialist - Benfleet. We are representing a leading Sixth Form & FE College in Benfleet that is looking for a Chemistry Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to move away from the traditional 11-16 school routine and join a professional, campus-style environment. You will be teaching motivated young adults who have chosen Chemistry to pave their way into Medicine, Engineering, and Research.

Job Responsibility:

  • Expert Delivery: Teach A-Level Chemistry and contribute to the Level 3 Applied Science curriculum
  • Practical Mastery: Lead advanced lab sessions, from titrations to complex syntheses, ensuring students master the practical skills required for university
  • University Guidance: Support students with UCAS applications, specifically those aiming for STEM and medical degrees
  • Innovative Teaching: Use the college's modern digital resources to bring the molecular world to life

Requirements:

  • Teaching Qualification: QTS, QTLS, or a recognised Further Education teaching qualification
  • Chemistry Degree: A strong degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Post-16 Passion: A genuine desire to work with young adults and a deep understanding of the A-Level curriculum
  • Communication: The ability to explain complex concepts in a simple, engaging way
