This is a full-time position starting in September 2026 for a dedicated Chemistry Teacher. Job Responsibility
Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive Chemistry lessons that captivate and challenge students across various key stages
Curriculum Alignment: Design and implement an innovative, well-sequenced curriculum that builds deep conceptual understanding and scientific literacy
Practical Management: Lead and supervise safe, engaging practical laboratory experiments that reinforce theoretical concepts
Student Assessment: Regular mark, assess, and provide precise, constructive feedback on student work to accelerate academic progress
Data Tracking: Monitor and track student performance data, keeping accurate records to identify and implement necessary interventions
Exam Preparation: Thoroughly prepare students for national qualifications, external GCSEs, and A-Level examinations through targeted revision and modelling
Classroom Culture: Maintain a calm, positive, and purposeful classroom environment using consistent and effective behaviour management systems
Department Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the Science faculty to share resources, plan collaboratively, and implement best practices
Safeguarding: Strictly adhere to school safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and professional ethics standards at all times
Professional Development: Actively engage in the school's continuous professional development (CPD) programmes, subject mentoring, and performance reviews
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
Subject Knowledge: Strong, secure subject knowledge of core chemical concepts, including atomic structure, bonding, kinetics, and chemical analysis
Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK
