Handshake is seeking Chemistry PhDs to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional academic or full-time role. You’ll use your advanced chemistry training to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data interpretation, and technical problem-solving. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
Job Responsibility
Use your advanced chemistry training to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data interpretation, and technical problem-solving
Design rigorous, domain-relevant questions and review AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and chemical validity
Requirements
Doctoral students and graduates (including those currently enrolled in a PhD program or in postdoctoral positions) in Chemistry or closely related fields
Strong background in advanced chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data analysis, and core principles across subdisciplines such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, materials, or computational chemistry
