Job Description

Handshake is seeking Chemistry PhDs to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional academic or full-time role. You’ll use your advanced chemistry training to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data interpretation, and technical problem-solving. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.

Job Responsibility

  • Use your advanced chemistry training to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data interpretation, and technical problem-solving
  • Design rigorous, domain-relevant questions and review AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and chemical validity

Requirements

  • Doctoral students and graduates (including those currently enrolled in a PhD program or in postdoctoral positions) in Chemistry or closely related fields
  • Strong background in advanced chemical reasoning, experimental design, reaction mechanisms, data analysis, and core principles across subdisciplines such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, materials, or computational chemistry
