Job Description:

Amaris Consulting is seeking a hands-on Chemical/Mechanical Scientist to contribute to the development of advanced, sustainable anti-fouling and drag-reduction technologies for the maritime industry. You will work at the intersection of chemistry, materials science, mechanics, and optics—driving innovations that reduce fuel consumption, lower emissions, and advance global maritime decarbonization. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with top researchers, leading industry experts, and cross-functional teams, delivering breakthrough UV-C optical solutions with real-world impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and optimize UV-C anti-fouling technology using innovative chemical and material concepts
  • Translate research outcomes into prototypes and commercially ready solutions
  • Conduct hands-on prototyping, wet and dry lab work, and real-world testing
  • Explore new trends and research across optics, mechanics, electronics, and chemistry to support ongoing projects
  • Contribute to intellectual property creation through documentation and invention disclosures
  • Provide input to product roadmaps and strategic development plans
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in materials development, chemical interactions (including silicones), and mechanical prototyping
  • Strong wet and dry laboratory experience
  • Proven ability to bring new technologies from concept to market-launched products
  • Strong motivation to contribute to sustainability and innovation in a dynamic scale-up environment
