Job Description:

As a Chemical Attendant at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you'll work closely with the Laboratory team, Process Improvement Engineer and Evaporator Operator to monitor, troubleshoot and adjust the chemical dosing systems used onsite. This position will be based at Invicta Mill in the Burdekin Region on a Day Work roster and may require some weekend work and overtime.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform chemical stocktakes and safely move chemicals around the mill
  • Assist operators in regular sampling of mill products for laboratory analysis
  • Assist with chemical cleaning and other cleaning as required
  • Carry out general surveillance of factory areas
  • Provide clear, regular and accurate feedback to mill management on factory issues
  • Lead by example in health & safety, ensuring every task is done with care and caution

Requirements:

  • Forklift and/or Loader Licence
  • High-Risk Work Licences (e.g. Working Safely at Heights)

  • Train and oversee daily actions of Sanitation and Housekeeping personnel to maintain compliance with SSOP’s
  • Discuss employee progress and strategies for improvement with FSQ Manager
  • Recognize procedure, policy, and safety violations and report these to the FSQA Manager or Safety Manager

  • Work with FSQ Manager to maintain steady crews and reduce turnover.
  • Provide a good example of leadership and demonstrate the importance of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Follow the Master Cleaning Schedule using SOP’s for the effectiveness of the sanitation crews cleaning to keep micro counts down.
