Job Description:

Chef de Cuisine - Pastry position at W Melbourne, part of Marriott International. The role involves leading daily pastry operations, exhibiting creative baking and decorating talents, supervising pastry areas, ensuring quality and consistency, guiding staff development, and maintaining sanitation standards. The position is at a luxury hotel in the heart of Melbourne CBD with five bars and restaurants.

Job Responsibility:

Accountable for overall success of the daily pastry operations
Exhibits creative baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas
Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget
Supervises all pastry areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced
Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports
Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved
Areas of responsibility comprise of overseeing all pastry food preparation areas

Requirements:

A passion for culinary artistry and a desire to innovate in the pastry kitchen
Background in high-end pastry kitchen is advantageous
A proactive and upbeat demeanor that inspires excellence
Keen to take on new challenges and grow within your career
Qualifications in Patisserie III and IV or equivalent are preferred
Embody a polished professionalism with an audacious approach to creativity
A playful individual who is passionate in creating memorable guest experiences
