Job Description

Our Chef de Cuisine – French restaurant is responsible to manage the kitchen, develop menus and create a culinary experience for hotel guests. The ideal candidate for this position is creative, enthusiastic, empower our employees to be themselves and possess a passion for flawless service and the highest level of integrity and work ethic.

Job Responsibility

  • Expertise in Classical and Modern French cuisine, focusing on quality ingredients and impeccable presentation to satisfy a very exigent, high-profile clientele
  • Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees in the Kitchen Department
  • Responsible for outlet food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency
  • Planning and development of menus and recipes, ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration, utilize creative menu planning to minimize waste
  • Coordinate menu tastings and pre-meal meetings to educate staff on food taste and preparation methods attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
  • interact directly with guests to ascertain satisfaction
  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Kitchen’s cold and hot food production area to ensure that established standards met, long-range strategic planning for outlet operation

Requirements

  • Culinary certification or degree from a culinary school required or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the same role in French restaurant
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent communication
  • Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientated
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Knowledge of best practices for safety and sanitation
  • Multitasking and organizational ability
  • Cross cultural sensitivity, and guests service orientation
  • Guest centricity and understanding the importance of guest’s preferences
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
  • French and European Flair
