Job Description:

Checkout Team Leader responsible for ensuring positive customer payment experience, managing checkout operations, leading checkout team, and contributing to store's commercial success while maintaining IKEA culture and values.

Job Responsibility:

  • Give customers a positive payment experience
  • Ensure check-out area is in shape as new
  • Ensure check-outs are efficiently equipped throughout the day
  • Ensure co-workers are ready and available to help customers
  • Support check-out co-workers when they cannot resolve customer needs
  • Deal positively and quickly with issues raised by customers
  • Follow up on queuing policy and waiting times
  • Guide customers to appropriate check-out
  • Ensure spot checks are conducted daily
  • Ensure store is safe and secure environment
  • Act on customer feedback to make service improvements
  • Understand importance of accurate stock inventory
  • Work with manager to identify root cause of recurring problems
  • Educate team on IKEA Concept
  • Contribute to check-out action plan
  • Ensure co-workers aware of business contingency plans
  • Deliver fast and positive payment experience
  • Secure IKEA Culture and Values through own example
  • Ensure right number of co-workers in right place at right time
  • Make sure agreed schedule for the day is kept
  • Help and support colleagues when needed
  • Work with other functions to improve shopping experience
  • Pass on knowledge to colleagues
  • Keep colleagues informed
  • Responsible for own development
  • Monitor performance against agreed goals
  • Follow cash handling procedures
  • Look for more effective ways of working to reduce costs

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of the easy buying experience
  • Cost and budget management
  • Proven leadership skills in a people-centric organisation
  • Talent management, i.e. recruitment and development
  • Change management
  • IKEA Brand, IKEA culture and values
  • Knowledge of working methods according to work focus
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and third-party contracts
  • Knowledge of the payment process
  • Knowledge of IKEA payment tools
  • Good communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to find solutions for customer and operational issues
  • Good attention to detail by being persistent, structured and accurate
  • Very perceptive with the ability to implement solutions quickly
