Job Responsibility:
Identify and secure the most suitable vessels to match cargo requirements, ensuring optimal efficiency between fleet capabilities and global logistics needs
Lead the negotiation of charter party terms and conditions to secure favorable freight rates and protect the company’s commercial interests
Build and leverage a high-level network of shipowners, brokers, and industry partners to ensure consistent access to premium vessel options
Manage and mentor the global operations team, fostering professional growth and ensuring that operational services align with broker and client expectations
Define and implement long-term strategies to ensure capacity, service quality, and operational efficiency across the chartering department
Monitor and analyze global shipping trends and market conditions to provide senior management with actionable insights and data-driven forecasting
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the operations team, providing regular feedback to drive excellence and accountability
Oversee budget planning and execute rigorous cost-control measures for operational services to maximize revenue streams and cost efficiencies
Ensure all chartering activities and contracts strictly adhere to legal, regulatory, and environmental standards within the maritime industry
Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar position
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
additional languages are advantageous
Ability to Work Under Pressure. Capable of making decisions quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
Extensive experience in chartering within the shipping industry
In-Depth Market Knowledge of the global shipping market, including freight rates, market trends, and chartering contracts (e.g., voyage charter, time charter)
Proficiency in Shipping Software: Skilled in relevant shipping software and IT systems
