The Neuro Acute Telemetry & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (6NNABC) at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 48 bed Neurosurgery/Neurological/Epilepsy Monitoring medical/surgical/telemetry unit. The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is part of the world renowned Barrow Neurological Institute. The staff take care of complex neurological and neurosurgical patients including patients with traumatic brain injuries spinal injuries brain tumors spine surgeries stroke migraine patients with epilepsy who need further in-patient evaluation and many other conditions. The members of this team are trained to be clinical experts in their field. As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients
Advocate for fellow nurses
Mentor others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education
Evaluate care given by staff
Coach to improve care
Ensure standard of care is maintained
Exhibit a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understand and coordinate the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult
Coordinate patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care
Requirements:
Associate Of Nursing Nursing
Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty
Registered Nurse: AZ
Basic Life Support - CPR
Bachelors Of Nursing Nursing
Charge Nurse experience
Previous experience with personal computers
