As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients
Advocate for fellow nurses in reaching their full potential
Provide direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units
Make patient care assignments, evaluate assignments, facilitate patient throughout, and directly observe staff performance on assigned shift
Proactively match existing resources seeking ways to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment
Monitor productivity and assure that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs
Communicate personnel related concerns to Unit Manager
Use a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem-solving
Facilitate Patient Experience best practices on the unit (hourly rounding, etc.)
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, upon hire
Registered Nurse: KY, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days
Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months
