We are looking for a detail-oriented Charge Capture Associate (Outpatient) to support revenue cycle operations for a Contract position based in Clearlake, California. In this role, you will help ensure outpatient charges are entered correctly, reviewed thoroughly, and aligned with established billing and reimbursement guidelines. This opportunity is well suited for someone who can work accurately within defined procedures while partnering with internal teams to improve charge capture and billing outcomes.
Job Responsibility
Enter outpatient charges into the billing platform with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and timely processing
Partner with coding and department staff to confirm billable services and obtain supporting details needed for reimbursement
Reconcile charge summaries against encounter documentation before finalizing updates in the system
Review reports and edit work queues to identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections with the appropriate teams
Support audits and special projects designed to strengthen charging, billing, and collection performance across the revenue cycle
Monitor assigned work within established procedures and escalate issues or irregularities to leadership when needed
Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding charge entry status, concerns, and opportunities for process improvement
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree, technical training, or a comparable combination of education and related experience preferred
Previous charge entry or medical billing experience in a healthcare environment preferred
Working knowledge of revenue cycle operations, outpatient billing, and charge capture practices
Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and work instructions with close attention to detail
Experience reviewing billing edits, reconciling documentation, and supporting audit activities
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional healthcare staff
