Casual Per Diem role. Collaborates with staff to assess, address and document the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families. Triage and minister amidst crises, loss and grief. Contacts clergy of other faiths as requested by patients and families. Provides sacraments as appropriate in their faith and the situation. Provides spiritual and emotional support to staff as needed.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures
Requirements:
Master's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Religious Studies
Master's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Theology
Master's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Divinity or related field
Typically requires 1 year of experience in ministry
Minimum of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) which is granted by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE)
Self-awareness that includes knowledge of one’s feelings, attitudes, values, assumptions, strengths and weaknesses, and how these affect one’s spiritual care
Ability to work amidst crisis situations in calm non-anxious manner
Ability to maintain appropriate emotional, physical and spiritual boundaries
Ability to communicate and document efficiently using electronic media
Ability to care spiritually for persons of other or no faith without sharing one’s personal convictions
