We are currently looking for a Channel Sales Manager (General Trade & Distributor Management) for a globally renowned Fortune 500 FMCG company specializing in household and personal care brands. This position is based in Klang Valley and acts as both the tactical "brain" and field execution lead for the traditional trade, distributors, and local modern trade networks. Job Responsibility
Take full operational and commercial ownership of the General Trade (GT), Distributors, and Local Modern Trade (LKAs) accounts, aligning frontline sales activities with corporate profitability metrics
Lead, structure, and transform a distributor sales force of 11 direct reports
driving daily morning alignment meetings and delivering on-the-ground coaching to step up team discipline and productivity
Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) alongside sell-in and sell-out tracking to build optimal warehouse stock levels, implement FIFO practices, and eliminate out-of-stock hurdles
Partner with customer marketing and distributor principals to execute New Product Developments (NPD), negotiate high-impact second-site displays, and deploy trade investment funds strategically
Conduct meticulous regular business reviews with service providers and accounts to audit logistics metrics, trade claims, and account collections
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of FMCG experience in Customer Development, Distributor Management, or Trade Marketing
Solid exposure spanning general trade distribution networks as well as local supermarket/modern trade accounts, backed by strong business analysis capabilities
An active, hands-on professional who thrives on field-based management and possesses a strong ownership mindset
Highly polished, organized, and meticulous communicator who leads by example on the field, with the maturity to fix operational gaps and step into future leadership roles
