A Senior UX/US Designer is needed for a remote contract. We are seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer who is passionate about leading and applying a user-centered approach to product development. The Senior UX Designer will lead the application of a user-centered approach to product development, focusing on web and mobile solutions for K-12 curriculum experiences. This role operates within a Continuous Discovery framework, requiring the use of research insights to deliver high-quality, accessible design deliverables. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Content and Digital Strategy, Learning Sciences, Research & Analytics, and Accessibility teams.
Job Responsibility:
Independently manage UX work, focusing on information architecture, user flow design, and interaction design
Lead design efforts across multiple products to align with the holistic School strategy and vision
Evangelize human-centered design methodologies and champion best practices within Agile sprint teams
Solve complex design problems and drive multiple projects simultaneously, always considering the larger School platform and business model
Collaborate with the UX Research team to translate user needs, metrics, and business goals into tangible experiences
Design and build user flows, wireframes, concepts, and interactive prototypes to define development requirements and inform technology decisions
Confidently present designs to peers, stakeholders, and leadership, articulating the rationale behind decisions
Contribute to the design system by introducing high-quality, accessible, and usable patterns (UX standards, best practices, styles, patterns, and guidelines)
Requirements:
7+ years’ work experience in product development, user experience design, or product design
Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Visual Communication, Digital Design, Product Design, Human Centered Design, or a related field is required
Demonstrated success leading design efforts across multiple products to achieve a central solution
A portfolio demonstrating your design work in web and mobile solutions, process, and cross-functional collaboration
Strong, mandatory hands-on experience with Figma and advanced knowledge of other prototyping software (e.g., Axure, Penpot)
Hands-on experience designing for internal-facing platforms or enterprise tools
Deep understanding of responsive design and a high-level understanding of accessibility guidelines
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment
Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
