Under the direct supervision of the Set-Up/Conversion Manager, this position performs physical tasks to set up and tear down equipment and materials for convention center events. Responsibilities include preparing the facility for shows, maintaining cleanliness, operating equipment, and supporting operational needs as required.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare the facility for shows, including arranging chairs, stages, tables, and other equipment as assigned
Perform exterior and interior cleaning of the facility
Dispose of all waste, including bulk trash removal from all areas of the building
Clean and maintain all assigned areas
Read, understand, and follow event work orders
Coordinate work with other operations sections to ensure smooth event execution
Maintain a safe and secure working environment
Adhere to ASM Global policies and procedures in all aspects of the role
Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, scrubbers, and company vehicles safely and in accordance with training and operational standards
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in event set-up, conversion, or housekeeping in a hotel, arena, convention center, or similar public assembly facility preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and work from lifts or ladders for extended periods (8–14 hours per day)
Frequent lifting of 50 pounds or more
Good eye-hand-foot coordination and hearing sufficient to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells, and horns
