Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Chancery Paralegal to support a busy legal practice in Delaware. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a part-time detail-oriented candidate who is comfortable navigating Delaware court procedures and preparing accurate legal filings. The role offers a mix of chancery-related work along with support for matters involving civil litigation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, review, and file legal documents with Delaware courts, including matters involving the Court of Chancery
  • Coordinate case activity by tracking deadlines, maintaining records, and updating matter details in case management systems
  • Assist attorneys with discovery tasks such as organizing evidence, compiling responses, and managing document production
  • Support trial and hearing preparation by assembling exhibits, pleadings, witness materials, and other required documentation
  • Communicate with courts, clients, and legal staff to help keep matters moving efficiently and accurately
  • Provide paralegal support across a range of legal matters, including chancery proceedings, traffic violations, DUI cases, and certain family law matters.

Requirements:

  • Prior paralegal experience handling court filings and legal documentation in a law firm or similar legal setting
  • Working knowledge of Delaware court procedures, with familiarity in the Court of Chancery strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting civil litigation matters, including discovery coordination and trial preparation
  • Proficiency with case management software and the ability to maintain organized, accurate case files
  • Familiarity with legal matters related to family law, traffic violations, or DUI cases is beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and written communication skills
  • Availability to work in a part-time capacity on a long-term contract assignment.
