The Host/Hostess is the guest’s first impression of the restaurant, with knowledge of menus, menu ingredients and guest preferences. Purpose: To greet and seat guests while coordinating guest reservations and responding to inquiries in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum guests’ satisfaction.
Job Responsibility:

Execute all tasks assigned by superiors
Demonstrate a high degree of standards awareness
Attend all scheduled training sessions
Display warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers
Adhere to the hotel's code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards
Assist colleagues in crunch times
Actively participate in briefings and meetings
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and promote a safe working environment
Seat guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference
Set up host/hostess stand, review guest reservation book, and make recommendations as to the set-up of the room
Maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant
Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards and take guest reservations or provide information
Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name
Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance
Develop a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials
Polish plates and cups
clean pantry and coffee machines
Help to clear tables and resetting
Prepare napkins for the service and Cold towel
Ensure enough kids amenities before service
After service, keep track of all reservation sheet, total number of guests and to records all food and Beverage preferences
Complete special projects (menu changes, signage, etc) as instructed
Ensure proper table set-up and make minor adjustments as needed
Requirements:
1-2 years of relevant experience in Food & Beverage in a Resort/Hotel of similar standard
Open and friendly personality
Fluent in English and French
Be computer literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
