We have an opportunity for an experienced and dynamic CFO to join our Senior Leadership Team, responsible for driving the rollout of low carbon technologies in homes across the UK. In this role, you will lead our core finance functions - Financial Management & Accounting, Financial Operations, Financial Risk, and Pricing. You will also support our Strategic Finance team in financial planning. You’ll be responsible for performance, planning and development across each area in finance including leading a team of exceptional people to unlock their full potential. We operate in a fast growing industry and like to challenge conventional thinking. Octopus Energy Services is spearheading the transition to greener, cheaper energy through the installation of in-home technologies; from smart meters and EV chargers; to low carbon heating, home batteries, solar, and beyond. We deliver smart energy, low carbon solutions for our customers.
Job Responsibility:
Set and execute financial strategy to drive sustainable growth and margin improvement
Lead planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management across all divisions
Drive improvements in pricing, working-capital efficiency, and financial control
Partner with operations and sales Directors to translate operational data into actionable financial insight
Improve unit economics and reduce cost-to-serve across installation and logistics operations
Support new propositions to drive further scale and opportunity
Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and reporting
Oversee cashflow, capital planning, and risk management
Act as a key interface with auditors, regulators, and the wider Octopus Energy Group
Build, develop and inspire a high-performing finance team embedded across the business
Drive collaboration between finance, operations and technology to drive data-led decision-making
Be a key member of the OES executive team, shaping strategy, culture and long-term growth
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Senior leadership experience in a complex, high-growth or operationally intensive business
Highly commercially savvy with a track record of delivering results and influencing at executive level
Hands-on, pro-active and analytical, able to move seamlessly between boardroom strategy and operational detail
Passionate about renewable energy, sustainability and building organisations that do good while doing well
Thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven, tech-enabled culture
Experience in high growth multifaceted organisations, driving change, innovation and disruption of status quo
Able to guide the operational leaders on which activities are most impactful
