We are looking for a dynamic and experienced CFO/Controller to join our client's team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will oversee financial operations while contributing to strategic decision-making and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, financial leadership, and human resource management, ensuring operational excellence and compliance across all domains.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic planning and decision-making
Oversee compliance with tax filings, audits, and accounting standards, maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements
Develop and implement internal controls to protect company assets and ensure consistent financial practices
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture
Administer benefit programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, while maintaining compliance with employment laws
Design and enforce HR policies that align with federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborate with senior leadership to shape long-term organizational strategies and operational goals
Monitor and optimize cash flow and capital investments to support ongoing property management projects
Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
At least 7 years of experience in accounting or financial leadership roles, preferably in property management
Minimum of 3 years in human resources management or related leadership positions
Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi or AppFolio, and advanced knowledge of Excel
Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or QuickBooks Payroll is preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting processes, and HR best practices
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Proven ability to manage compliance efforts and implement effective internal controls
