Job Description

Join Barclays as a CFO Business Partnering & Controls VP where you’ll have the chance to act as a liaison and trusted advisor to global business, driving financial insight, governance, and control excellence. In this role you will be responsible for leading financial planning processes (including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategy), while ensuring the integrity of financial information and regulatory reporting. You will deliver actionable analysis and metrics to senior management, support major planning exercises such as stress testing, and partner with business heads on strategic initiatives and new product approvals. Additionally, you will oversee risk and control frameworks, resolve complex issues, and champion process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Job Responsibility

  • Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions
  • Development of financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations
  • Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders
  • Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations
  • Support to business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices
  • Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret complex financial data, simplify concepts, and deliver actionable insights using advanced tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication – Strong capability to collaborate with internal stakeholders, tailor communication for diverse audiences, and influence decision-making in a dynamic environment
  • Adaptability in Complex Business Environments – Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting, managing change while ensuring accuracy and control

  • Familiarity with Liquid Financing, specifically Prime Brokerage, Equity and Fixed Income Financing , Clearing and Electronic high/low touch execution businesses including trade flows and controls knowledge
