Job Description:

As a Staff Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, to carry out the specific responsibilities, the Vision of the Hospital: A BETTER CHILDHOOD FOR ALL CHILDREN, must be present. Contributing to the Hospital Mission – TO PROVIDE THE FINEST PEDIATRIC HEALTH SERVICES TO ALL CHILDREN IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND MEDICAL EDUCATION. THE HOSPITAL WILL SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE FOR ALL CHILDREN AND WORK TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN – requires you to demonstrate integrity, teamwork, innovation, commitment to personal development, and a commitment to children.

Job Responsibility:

  • Taking care of children during the peri-operative period undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Covering general anesthesia cases in Benjamin Russell (including Interventional Radiology), Lowder, imaging, NICU, and emergency airways at Children's of Alabama
  • Working as part of a level 1 trauma center serving patients from every county in Alabama and nearly every state

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications: Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
  • Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist ABON
  • Basic Life Support
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists
  • Masters of Nurse Anesthesia in Nurse Anesthesia
  • Ability to use all anesthesia and inhalation therapy materials and techniques in current use, all anesthetic agents and associated drugs and all associated equipment used in Pediatric and Adult Anesthesia
