Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for many aspects of the mail order prescription process
  • May be assigned to work all areas of the dispensing pharmacy including product selection, packing and shipping
  • Perform any of the following functions: manual filling and packing, fill medications for automated machines, Quality Sampling of medications from automated machine, packing orders using automated packing machinery
  • May be asked to support the shipping handler functions such as manually metering packages and placement of packages to be sorted for shipment
  • Responsibility of maintaining licensure and compliance training
  • Flexibility to perform duties across multiple functional areas

Requirements:

  • Verifiable high school diploma or GED required
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or ExCPT through NHA required for all those licensed after 2008
  • Newly licensed Technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their certification
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
