Job Description:

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Ortho Surgical First Assist to join our Surgical Services team on the Orthopedic Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville (Downtown). This full-time, day-shift role works four 10-hour shifts (6:30am–5:00pm).

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures
  • Preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon preference
  • Patient positioning
  • Provide visualization of operative site
  • Utilizes techniques to provide hemostasis
  • Assist with body plan closure
  • Advanced skills as competency tested
  • Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing
  • Assists in turnover of operating room

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree
  • 2 years Operating Room Experience Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA) Required Or Surgical Assistant Certification (SA-C) Required
  • Orthopedic experience required
