Job Description:

Provides basic patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of his/her training and experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides basic patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of his/her training and experience
  • Provides direct patient care including but not limited to assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and walking patients
  • Keeps record of care given
  • Takes vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry) and performs adult bedside blood glucose monitoring when appropriate
  • Turns and repositions patients to prevent breakdown of their skin
  • Changes bed linens as necessary
  • Transports patients and equipment as needed within the facility
  • Monitors patients and reports any variances to the RN for further assessment
  • Works collaboratively with the RN in charge to meet physicians, coworkers, management and other department’s needs
  • Participates in bedside shift report
  • Provides unit support as needed, which may include answering and relaying patient calls, accepting and relaying other communications, performing clerical tasks, completing and maintaining reports and records, or ordering/stocking supplies

Requirements:

  • Current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license from the Wyoming State Board of Nursing
  • 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date

Nice to have:

  • Prior acute care experience
  • Six (6) or more months of experience as a CNA
